Full members are placed on a weekend duty team and are required to attend their assigned shifts. In addition, they are required to attend at least 50% of our business meetings and training meetings and to accumulate at least 20 hours of training per year. If a full member must miss a duty shift with their team, they are required to find coverage from a fellow member for the time missed.
Associate members are members in good standing with another fire department. They are not placed on a duty team like other members, but instead, they are required to be on duty for a total of at least 20 hours per month. Associate members are also required to accumulate at least 20 hours of training every year.
Junior members are members younger than 18. Junior members are certified firefighters who can participate in normal outside (non-interior) firefighter duties but who are NOT allowed to proceed into an IDLH (Immediate Danger to Life and Health) atmosphere. During school months, junior members are required to leave the station by 10 p.m. on school nights but are allowed, with parental consent, to stay overnight on non-school nights and during the summer. Junior members must also turn in all report cards to the chief and maintain at least a C average; failure to do so will result in the junior member being suspended from all station activity until they can provide documented proof that their grades have been brought back up to a C average.
